How to Line your Cake Pans




The parchment paper is a baker’s favorite handy helper. It is used to prevent a variety of baking goods from sticking unto the pan. It’s double sided nonstick feature is moisture and grease resistant. Parchment paper makes it easy to take care of your cake pans. It is easy to clean without those stuck cake and cookie crust. It also effectively prevents stains usually made my chocolate or caramel sauces.

Here’s how you can use parchment paper to line your cake pans:
For a square cake pan, place the cake pan on top of the parchment paper and cut the paper 3 inches larger on all sides. At each corner, make a 3-inch diagonal cut towards the center of the paper. Sprinkle a bit of water on the inside of the pan to hold the paper in place. Place the paper inside the pan and crease the inside edge. In the corner, take care to tuck one piece of paper over the other. The extra parchment overhang acts has handle when lifting the cake out of the pan.

For a round cake pan, trace the bottom of the cake pan on a parchment paper. Cut out the circle and place it in the bottom of the greased pan. If you don’t have a pencil, you can also fold a square of parchment into a quarter. Fold it into a triangle and again in half. Place the paper on the bottom of the pan while estimating the diameter and cut the triangle. It should be a perfect fit to the cake pan when you unfold it.
